Imam calls for more modesty among moderns

DENVER (RWN) – The world is spinning out of control, said Imam Hamid, the chief spiritual authority in Denver, and the best evidence of that is a woman’s ankle.

That’s why he’s issued a fatwa proclaiming that any woman showing any skin below her knee is in violation of Islamic law – and even extends the fatwa to the so-called “modern movement.”

“They are the worst offenders, if you want to know the truth,” Hamid said yesterday. “These women – they call themselves ‘moderns,’ as if that excepts them from Islamic practices – parade around showing their legs, their calves, their bare arms. Even the prayer shawl is now just a small piece of fabric worn as a fashion accessory. It was small nibble like this that eventually devoured the old regime in sin. We must stop it. And we will stop it in Denver.”

Hamid has instructed the Black Robes, the nation’s religious police, to cite and take custody of any woman showing skin beneath her knees.

“A good woman should be fully clothed,” the imam said, “but we will fight that battle at a different time.”

The move caused immediate controversy and outcry among civil rights groups.

“The Black Robes have no authority over any citizen of this republic save the fundamentalists who choose to place themselves under the Black Robes,” said Rita Cobb, the president of the Colorado chapter of the Islamic Women Civil Rights Project, and a modern. “For the imam to do this is unfair and also is not reflective of the nature of this country. He forgets that the conservatives and fundamentalists make up only a fraction of this nation, and that much of the good work of Allah is being done by secular Muslims who believe as strongly in personal freedom as they do in The Word.”

The imam’s fatwa may not be coincidental.

Denver is one of the strongholds of conservative and fundamentalist thought in the nation and Hamid is seen as an imam who floats trial balloons for other fundamentalist clerics in less tolerant cities.

A similar fatwa against secular advances, issued in 2016 by Derek Ali, the head of the Black Robes, resulted in San Francisco being cleansed of homosexuals in a summer-long bloody campaign. After the grisly success of that fatwa, Ali pressed President-for-Life Kingsley to cleanse all of the Islamic States of homosexuals, which Kingsley refused to, causing a rift between the president and the chief mullah of the Black Robes.

“I am not advocating violence,” Hamid said about his recent footwear fatwa. “I am just saying that we must keep the influences of sin as far from us as possible. Let us start by covering legs.”

Denver Police Chief Gabir Rexall, himself a modern Muslim, said that his officers would not enforce the imam’s orders.

“That’s for the religious police to do,” he said. “Now, if one of my officers should catch a Black Robe breaking the civil law, we will most definitely enforce the civil law.”

Background~
Played Rappelz for too long, account got hacked, not going back, besides, it’s old and the grind blows. I’ve tried:
Runes of Magic- bored, level capped, just not that fun.
Chronicles of Spellborne-hated it
Atlantica- Looking for a quest game, and at first the turn based was ok, but soon tired of it.
Vindictus- not very good, it feels cheap, town, boat, dung, town boat dung…..cheap
Tried getting Rift VIP-no luck, and I need something now, not in March 2011
Did a trial sub to Perpetuum- This is a very complex game, this is not for the casual gamer.

So, any suggestions? I’m looking for Elder Scrolls open sandbox questing, solo, newer and above all, fun.

I’m not looking at WoW, I refuse to be apart of that, I don’t like cartoonish, manga, anime, creepy little asian girls with a pet.

Extremism or kids mucking about?

After reading a few questions about the teacher suspended for reprimanding kids for glorifying 9/11 bombers I was reminded of an incident that happened to me recently. My 9yr old son plays with my neighbour’s kids who are from Iraq, my son has one of those dress up soldier uniforms. He went out to play in the uniform with the neighbour’s kids. They staged a trial, mock executed him and posted it on Youtube! Far from being traumatised my lad thought the whole thing was a lark and raced home to show me the Youtube footage of which he was very proud! I had a quick word with the kid’s dad who apologised and swiftly removed the film from Youtube. As far as I’m concerned it was no worse than the old Cowboys and Indians thing kids used to play, or am I kidding myself? It certainly hasn’t caused a rift between us and the neighbours. To be honest I was more concerned about my son getting unlimited internet access at their house than the game they played.

I think you had the perfect attitude.
It wasnt meant clearly in a racist way or a to frighten your son–it was a game.
And if you had reacted badly it could have effected your sons relationship with the other kids.

Thank God you are not one of those mothers who would take it as a threat and phone the police—bet some other parents would have.

Why does the Acts of the Apostles end so abruptly? Could Luke not disguise Paul’s actions in Rome to look good?

I mean, Luke does a passable job of making the rift between Paul and the apostles look temporary till the end of the book, when Paul is supposed to show the Jewish Christians in Jerusalem that is still one of them, but instead ends up identifying himself as a Roman. (Acts 22)

From there till the very end of the book the proud Roman citizen is safely in Rome, in Roman custody, awaiting a “trial” that Luke doesn’t even try to pretty up like he did elsewhere in the book. We have some legends about what he did, sure, but nothing from an eyewitness like Luke. Luke was with Paul in Rome, according to Acts, so why does the book end so abruptly? What was Paul really up to that had to be left out?
Hi Dewcoons. Thanks for your detailed answer, but why would Luke be trying to get the charges dropped when the Roman authorities tried to drop the charges themselves and Paul wouldn’t let them? Remember, he is the one who appealed to Caesar. They wanted to let him go.

My computer isn’t working. (Black Screen)?

Recently, I’ve found that my computer is having issues with running video games and freezing up on me. I took it to a computer repair shop and paid them to clean my computer, apply some new thermal glue, and run a diagnostics test on it. Everything tested fine. I brought my computer back home and after two weeks it’s starting to act up again.

When I turn on my computer, all the fans come on, all the lights come on, the light on my computer screen turns green, my mouse lights up, and my webcam lights up. Normal, right? However, once my computer starts to boot (it doesn’t boot immediately, it takes maybe a second or two before the fans stop for a half second and then start back up again with a little bit more force; my graphics card starts at this time too) the screen flashes with a very quick glimpse of my processor’s loading screen, then the entire thing goes black.

My computer is still running. All the lights are still on. The fans are still running, but still yet my computer isn’t booting up and the screen just remains black. Another thing I find odd is that instead of having to a hard reset on my computer in order to shut it down, all I have to do is press the power button and it immediately shuts down without me having to hold the button for a few seconds.

The reason I took my computer into the repair shop was to fix this EXACT same problem. They said everything was fine, and it worked for a week or so then it happened all over again.

Also, when it was working, I’d notice it freezing up a lot when I tried to run Rift or WoW. Sometimes the screen would go completely black and I could still hear the game sounds playing. I could walk forward and hear the footsteps so I knew it was just my screen shutting down for some reason. My monitor isn’t bad. I checked my graphics card and everything looks alright. I’m not extremely tech savvy but I can do some trial and error. I just want to know what’s wrong with my computer and try to get it fixed.

I’ve tried unplugging everything and doing a power cycle. I’ve cleaned my RAM. I’ve cleaned my video card. I’ve cleaned my power supply fan. I’ve done most everything that I have been able to research online, but nothing seems to be helping and I’m out of options.

Also, when my computer was working, I continually checked my CPU temperature because the guy at the repair shop said that my computer may have been acting up due to overheating. The whole time my computer was running for those two weeks I had no issues of overheating whatsoever. My only confusion is that my computer acts as if everything is working perfectly fine, but still yet it just doesn’t boot fully. Again, as soon as I power it on, the slight pause between booting my processor and video card occurs, I catch a quick glimpse of the processor’s loading screen, and then the screen just goes black.

I’m desperate. Any help would be appreciated and if all else fails I might just have to take it back to the repair shop and complain about them not fixing the problem in the first place. :c But I really don’t want to do that.
Edit: May 21st, 2011. I tried turning on my computer today before I went off to work just to TRY and see if it would turn on, and it did. The processor’s loading screen came up and actually stayed on the the screen, then it went to the window’s loading screen and now I’m on my computer yet again. I don’t really know what changed or what happened, but I still want to keep this question open just in case. I’ve gotten some decent feedback on it.

Wow, that’s a tough one. It sounds like you’ve covered everything pretty well so far. There are any number of reasons/possibilities that can cause that problem, and it would take some testing to really determine what it is. Knowing the make and maybe the model of computer would help. One thing to try is when you power on the computer is going into the BIOS setup. If you can go into it and it stays on screen for an hour without problems, then it’s most likely a hard drive or corrupt software issue when booting and not hardware related, but if it fails right away or fairly quickly, then you have a hardware problem of some kind.

Here are some things that it could be:
1) Bad monitor, at least for the black screen during games. The backlight or inverter may be bad. Try another known working monitor to see what happens.

2) Bad system board. Hard to really test for, but would have to rule out everything else to claim it as a problem. Some computers (Dell computers have them) have built-in diagnostics that could be run.

3) Bad memory modules. Remove all but one and test them one at a time in slot 1 of your memory spots.

4) Bad hard drive or corrupt system files on drive. You’d have to run some hard drive diagnostics to test.

5) Bad video card. Can cause computer to not boot and video problems as well, depending on the particular failure it has. Make doubly sure that the cooling fan is working properly on it.

I’d need to know the results of your tests, the make & model of your computer, and any other info that you come up with to give any more ideas.

ok so i downloaded the rift 7 day trial and everything went fine until i had to update my directx9 ( i have directx11) and when i do it says its unable to download and im unable to play rift even tho i have directx11. i tried going to the website to download it directly but when i click on the download it brings me straight to a “cannont display this webpage” error. i bought this $700 laptop mainly to play rift….oh and school i guess XD please can someone help me!!??

Yes it will. Pretty same as WoW Cataclysm which didn’t had a 10days trial instantly after it was released. It is unknown when Rift Trial will be available yet.

Why cant I download DirectX?

Ok, so my last post of this did not include enough info. I am trying to update my Direct X so I can play the Rift trial this weekend. However, when I try to update DirectX, it tells me an internal system error has occured and tells me to refer to DirectX.log. I accessed this file via “Run” and the top line says: “DXSetup: No command line switch”. I am not sure what a command line switch is as I am not the best person in the world with computers. I have tried to download DirectX via Rift and the official microsoft DirectX website, getting the same result from both. I am currently running on Windows Vista and I’m not entirely sure which DirectX Rift is trying to get me to download, though the program asking permission to download it is called DirectX SMP (Is that a version of DirectX?). Please help me get this resolved. Thanks.
I tried Dxdiag, it says I have DirectX11, so whats the problem? (I’m running on vista as i’ve also said)
I checked again and Rift says Directx9 install needs to be up dated, so I’m still in the dark.

Run Windows Update and make sure you have the latest service packs, critical updates, and all that.

Edit: I know it’s confusing but DirectX 11 isn’t exactly a higher version of DirectX 9. They really are separate products and that confuses a lot of people because they do share the name.

Hey Guys,

So im looking to buy a new MMORPG, and i think these two look really cool. Ive tried downloading the trials, but neither of them work on my computer for various reasons, and i think the install via the disk would be easier (The downloads take too long and end up crashing)

I like WoW but got bored of it after catacyslm, and I dont really get into PvP that much… So overall in your opinion as a game, which is more fun, aion or rift?

hey i got one of the trial keys yesterday and i entered it and downloaded the game then patched it then it wouldnt let me on so today i decided to uninstall it and then re-install it and now i have to download a extra patch that will take a undetermined number of hours anyways now that ill be able to play for roughly 2 days i wana no whats good Defiant dominated pvp server in the game and im also planning on being a necromancer, pyromancer, and elementalist so i wana no if theres any problem with those or that combo

Hmm, this answer might be coming in late with your trial, but as far as Defiant dominated pvp, I would pick a realm that is the type you like, narrow that down by population, then do a google search on the remainders for forum postings about the server. As far as that soul combination goes, necromancer and elementalist probably wont go well together as they are both pet classes and pets from the necro tree benefit from necro talents, same with the elementalist.

every time i log on to my rift trial it loads but only goes to 93% and then the game crashes can anyone help me?

Everyone’s RIFT has a long pause while loading at 93%. There are hundreds of jokes about it in the official forums. But crashing is a different matter. I would look at your computer specs (low on memory?), I’d be sure I wasn’t running another big program, I would run the recovery (not repair) tool located at the lower right of the screen AFTER you log in with your password but BEFORE you hit the play button, I would try reinstalling, and if none of that worked, I’d get tech support on the phone.

Is Rift any good later on?

I started the trial and was somewhat into it, but after the “tutorial” i kinda stopped. usually that would mean i wouldn’t be interested but the thing is the same thing happened with WoW and now i love it. so is Rift any good afterwords?

I think RIFT is great afterwards. Better interface, better graphics, better character customization, and I differ a little with the person who said everyone quit playing at 50. Subscription numbers kept going up and hit a million quite some time after that first month.

But I agree that there was limited content at 50 and that lately there’s been a new patch with a new raid every month, plus some goodies for casual players at 50.

The main annoyance with RIFT to me is that it’s boring to level extra characters. Unlike WoW, you basically have to go through the exact same zones/quests for each character. Switching factions helps a little, but only the first time.

As someone new to MMO’s, which is better/should I play: Rift or WoW?

I’ve played countless trials, but never really ended up playing any of them. I’ve tried WoW, and now I’m trying Rift, and Rift seems awesome.

I heard Rift basically takes everything good about WoW and other mmo’s, corrects the bad things, repackages it in a fresh new style, and adds new and dynamic content such as rifts. The game seems really cool.

So as someone new to mmo’s, which would you recommend???

I played Wow for about 4 n a half years before i gave it up coz i didnt have time to play it. I think entering WoW now is a bit late in the game as its on its 3rd expansion now and there is a loooong grind up to the top lvls ahead of you. But the end game content is always realy good as WoW is a well polished game now is very good.

BUT… I became bored of the same old stuff and quit to play RIFT, …. Meh its okay i played it in Beta and the first couple of months of release but it didnt seem to grab me like wow did i didnt read any of the quests coz it didnt interest me and the RIFTs themselves soon become a pain when they take over the quest hubs and you can do ur quests.

If you can afford to take a chance on RIFT then do it coz i know a few people who really like it but i also know a few people who cant stand it and have alrdy cancelled there sub, me included.

Rift or World of Warcraft?

I have been playing World of Warcraft for 3 years now and I love it but its starting to get a little old. Now I see Rift and it looks awesome. But i played the trial and it wasn’t all that fun. I wanted to know what you guys say. Does Rift get better if your not on trial? Compared to WoW? Call me a nerd, these games are great.

Rift is really fun if you are on a populated server. If you roll on a server with a low population, rifts and invasions become more of a nuisance than anything. They basically leave the zone unusable until the invasion is over.

I hear that at level 50 it gets a bit boring but there’s still plenty of stuff to do. It certainly doesn’t have the content that WoW does but it’s a worthy alternative. In my opinion a lot is riding on the next major content patch. The game is still young and it’s hard to tell how it will do in the long run.

I’m taking my time to 50 while I wait for them to add more end game content. Rift has a lot of potential. It’s clearly set itself up for expansions. If they do the next few major content patches right, and their first expansion right, the game might really take off. Right now Trion claims to have around 600,000 subscribers. I’d love to see that number grow to a few million.

Rift Trial: Not authorized to play?

First off, WTF Rift, do you not want new players?

I literally just activated two trial accounts and neither of them work. I go to log in and it says I’m Not Entitled/Not authorized to play, error #2002. Apparently this is because I didn’t activate the trial. But I did. Twice. On both emails. So what the hell Rift. Any suggestions?

It could be two things, either you didn’t properly setup the code, or the code is used/expired.

1. Start-up the game, click the account button on the bottom instead of clicking play.
2. Log-in to that site with your e-mail and password.
3. Click apply code under account management.
4. Enter the code and you should be good to go.

Played the trial for Rift and I’m very impressed. Where can I get a digital copy for a good price?

I just finished playing the trial for Rift and I must say that it is AMAZING!! I love it, and I think I’m ready to upgrade to the full game. Only problem is that my laptop in all of its shiny glory and awesomeness does not have a CD/DVD slot so I’m left with a digital download option. Now I was wondering where I can get a digital copy of it for a good price, and does the digital copy also come with a free month of game play after you purchase it like you would with a physical copy? Thanks.

Rift free trial download ?

so was watching g4 and saw that rift had started doing a 7 day free trail – i’m a current wow fan but from the shows and gamer magazines rift sounds like i would be a better game for me – so i hoped on the main website and started the download and made a login – i’ve been downloading for the past hour and haven’t been using my pc much. now i wanted to get online and play while it was downloading, however something was casuing really slow loading and connection problems w/ my and a friends pc (who uses the same wi-fi spot) so i though i would see if it was the rift download that was screwing with my pc and i disconnected my pc from the internet source. when i did instantly my friends pc started working again and i reconnected and my internet started again. i have done this 2-3 times over the last 30 mins and i was wondering if anyone knew anything about a problem like this

You can also get the free trial at http://riftclasses.org if you want to. The initial download does take a while since the game is so detailed, but it is definitely worth the wait!

You won’t want to go back to WoW after you experience Rift!

For the seven day trial, what options are disabled that you can’t use until you upgrade to full? As far as I know, the auction house is the only thing I haven’t been able to use. Are there other things you cannot do during the trial version?

How on earth do I play RIFT?

I downloaded the free trial of RIFT (wanted to try it out before I bought anything) and now everything’s good to go…but there are four buttons and all they say are “Manual, Support, Account and Recover.” What do I have to do to play the damn game?!

Was this downloaded from the main website for Rift?…

Once the launcher has been installed, it SHOULD show the basic log in screen that has Account, Support, Manual, and Settings on the bottom.. You just fill in the account information you created from the website into there to log into the main game itself.

(granted that your game has been fully patched.)

Deniers have a hard time understanding that changing the global climate is going to have a lot of impacts. Why they have a hard time understanding this I don’t know. It seems kind of obvious to me.

So they turn it into a joke. How often do we see questions about ‘what are they going to blame on global warming next’? All the freaking time. It seems to them like everything is blamed on global warming, but they don’t even bother to think if there’s good reason to blame many of these things on climate change.

Thinking is not something deniers tend to do well.

Is anyone else slightly worried about the Large Hadron Collider Switching on?

All right, so I’ve been reading up on this Large Hadron Collider deal, and I’m not so sure I like the implications. Apparently, the scientists CONDUCTING the experiment aren’t even sure what the thing does. When it is finally switched on, which I’ve heard will be anywhere from November 26, 2007 to May 2008, it will either, prove the big bang theory, by producing in layman’s terms a little universe all it’s own out of nothing, OR, it could create a black hole, or dimensional rift. Does anyone else think that this is a particularly BAD idea? Anyway, just something going through my head. You can look up the info on Wiki if you’re unaware of this subject.

There is no danger that the LHC will destroy the planet, or the universe. The LHC accelerates nuclear particles to very high energies and collides them. However, it does not produce centre-of-mass energies that exceed some of those produced by high energy cosmic rays. The universe slams things into Jupiter, Earth, and the moon all the time, with energies that are much higher than anything the LHC can produce. Cosmic rays have been hitting objects in the solar system for billions of years, and have not destroyed the planet or the universe.

The LHC’s unique quality isn’t in the amount of energy it can put into particles, it’s in the fact that it can set up these collisions to occur in a known volume of space, and physicists can build big detectors around that space. An extraordinarily lazy and patient physicist could simply place all of the detectors on the moon (no atmospheric or magnetic shielding), minus the particle accelerator, and then wait until a high energy cosmic ray happened to collide with something in the middle of the detectors. They would get data at energies higher than anything the LHC could produce. The problem is, it would be a very long wait. You can’t instrument the entire moon.

Actually it was the scab lands of northwestern America which were created by a series of massive floods during the last ice age. An enormous layer of ice a mile thick gouged out the depressions which would become the great lakes. As the glaciers began to melt, they formed a large inland sea held together by ice dams. Periodically the ice would collapse and billions of gallons of water would be released at once. The scab lands show the pattern of this mass of rushing water as it cut into soft bedrock, leaving harder rock exposed as large plateaus.

The grand canyon was also the work of running water, but the flow was much less and the canyon took millions of years to erode, unlike the scab lands which may have formed in as little as a week.

There is evidence that the flood mentioned in the bible was the formation of the black sea. Another ice dam held water back in the mediterranean sea and its collapse sent water rushing into the basin of what would eventually become the black sea. It is estimated the water advanced about 100 feet a day for many weeks. The people living on the shore of the original lake found they had to be constantly on the move to avoid drowning, which probably many of them did.

Unlike the earth, Mars is dead in terms of its geology. 4 billion years ago, Mars probably had liquid water and an atmosphere. Its iron core was still liquid and like the earth’s, the magnetic field generated deflected charged solar particles. When the core cooled and solidified, the field shut down and the solar particles slowly stripped the Martian atmosphere of most of its gas and water vapor. The great canyon on Mars does not appear to be the result of erosion however. It is probably a section of the planet’s crust which separated while Mars was still geologically active. With far less water, the earth would have had a very similar looking canyon when Africa separated from South America hundreds of millions of years ago.

Feminism has been a two-edged sword for black women.

The stresses on black culture left women to lead the families on their own, so they needed strength to survive.

The downside is that in many ways they are stronger than their men & that fact keeps them at arms length and makes their struggle to become strong more complex.

But the biggest harm that feminism has caused is on the children. In the end someone has to raise the children. Yes both sides should work this issue together, but do our children really have mothers anymore?

For a geography assignment i need to draw the diagrams on the cross section of the following plate boundries
- constructive/diverging margin (oceanic rifting)
- constructive margin/diverging (continental rifting)
- destructive/converging margin (two oceanic plates)

- destructive/converging margin (one continental and one oceanic plate)
- conservative/sliding/transform margin

Rift or Final Fantasy XIV?

I hear that Rift is very similar to WoW, but it has its strong points. I’ve never played WoW and I’m not interested, so is Rift a clone and compare it side by side, would you see it that way or completely different? Also, I’m not into the “medival” feel, but more into the anime FF-XIV has to offer. I know it has mostly negative reviews but new staff/director has been hired and I have a gut feeling that it’ll be polished as there has been patches (I’m very patient; FFXIII brings back sweet nostalgia).

I enjoy crafting, PvE and no or little PvP, story, character development, and interaction both with players/NPCs, nice graphics and animations/voice.

I’m fairly new to MMO and Aion (pretty good) was the first.
I understand, but I was talking about MMOs, not RPGs. I have played Fallout 3, DA:O, ME/ME2, and in two days DA2 SE, so I have some knowledge about RPGs. I should’ve noted that I don’t want an easy go for it type of MMO, like WoW. I would prefer something that makes me think critically and this outweighs WoW from what I’ve seen and read.

No offense, but you seem extremely ignorant on MMOs, and maybe RPGs all together. American RPGs are far superior to any JRPGs at the moment, and that goes for MMOs as well. World of Warcraft has amazing graphics, an amazing world, and absolutely SUPREME lore. There hasn’t been a good JRPG since FFIX, but let’s see what we have gotten from american devs…

just to name a few, and I personally have NEVER played even a decent JRPGMMO, or eastern in general. American devs are on top at the moment, eastern devs have lost their way since the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube gen, and I don’t see them coming out of it for a while. RIFT is absolutely amazing, and I will give you a link to the wiki so you can check it out…

PS: FFXIII was absolutely atrocious, it had a great story line, and character development, but the game play, and battle system were atrocious. There wasn’t a single + to that game fun, or game play wise. Once again proving that JRPGS are terrible at anything other than story.

Edit- Wow I don’t know what you have read, but WoW takes an extreme amount of effort, and skill end-game. Doesn’t matter if you are looking at it from a PvE stand point, or PvE. Cataclysm dungeons take time, skill, team work, and patience. All of that x10 for the heriocs to even get gear, and then that x100 to raid. Also… There is no “HXC4lifecuzi’mlegithardcoregamezer!” MMO, or even a game in general that I have played where you have to do critical thinking. . . If you could go into deeper detail on a game that you have played that allowed you to do this then I could get a better idea of what you are aiming for.

Best racing game for ps3/360?

I’m not only talking about games with great review scores. I’m looking for FUN games. So I’d appreciate leaving out the forza and gran turismo series because I have forza 2 and 3 and gt4 and the sim racing genre is getting a little too dry for me. I’m looking at games like midnight club la, motorstorm pacific rift, and need for speed hot pursuit. Which of these games is the most fun? I obviously would like your own game suggestions as well.

Gran Turismo 5 is a 10/10 simulator wrapped up in a 5/10 game – driving is as exhilarating as anything that’s gone before, and slavish obsession with the minutiae of many of its cars ensure it’s an encyclopaedia of automotive delights. Its brilliance on the track, however is matched by its sloppiness off of it, and there’s a lack of polish that would at one time have seemed sacrilegious to the series. Ultimately its driving wins out to ensure that it’s still a great game, but it leaves that nagging doubt; this could have been a masterpiece were it not for the fact that Polyphony was so absorbed with the detail that it took its eye off the ball.

GTAIV is just ok to me. Not my type of game kind of the same thing over and over. Steal a car go do gang crap to get money. Blah.

COD4 all around good game, good story and top of the line online.
Motorstorm is like any other racing game except on dirt tracks with limited amount of cars.

Socom! Is brilliant though! Perfect game. Amazing storyline BEST ONLINE GAME EVER!! Well for a shooter.

Never played Midnight club though.. Sorry.

WoW started its trial some months after coming out. Its a legitimate business strategy to withhold any form of trial/free to play period until after the game has been out a while, as games can be made or broken based upon early game sales.

Honestly, if you released a game, would you let people test it for free from day one?

On another forum I contribute to a woman there said that having breast cancer strained her marriage so much that it caused a rift between her and her husband. She was not paying attention to him and he sought it out someplace else.

My mom had breast cancer (that later claimed her life sadly ) any ways for the 5 years she was sick my dad was her constant care taker they were closer than i had ever seen them and when she was told she had a limited time to live he NEVER left her side even for a second their marriage was stronger than ever.. Sadly though after her death he was lonely and wanted companionship and found it in the witch i now call a step mom who idc if she dies ( i kno thats mean but tht woman curses my mom at every chance she gets!)

ASUS G73 Display Freeze during game play.. Help?

The problem started as soon as I unpacked the laptop basically.. Doing normal things like surfing the web or even playing some games like Dawn of War are no problem at all.
Unfortunately when I play any games like World of Warcraft or RIFT, I have display freezes. The sound stops as well. These freezes last for roughly 1-2 seconds, and will happen roughly once every 5 – 10 minutes.
I have searched forums, many of them, and have done everything that sounded like a fix, but nothing has worked; upgraded bios, upgraded every driver including graphics, I test the temperature of the computer while gaming and everything is normal so overheating is definitely not the problem. So many different fixes and nothing has worked. I have also read that people with this particular computer model have this problem as well.

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
I have checked the temperature with the program Core Temp. I run it every time I do gaming, and the temperature always stays under 55°C.
Pretty sure I mentioned that I test the temperature in the description.

I would be tempted to check your temps when the problem occurs.

WoW uses far more processing power than most games so im going with the CPU for now.

I got wow cata this Christmas so i download it and bought all the things for it with the $200 i got.
i have $50 now, bought all the expansions and guides.me and my friends play it, then i heard about Rift.people say wow is going to die from this game or the servers are going die (people wont play it anymore)so will wow die,i just got all the stuff and started 2 weeks ago.and on the forums people complain about wow, blizzard cant make everyone happy.lastly,is blizzard failing and will WOW improve?

It’s not dying at all. I don’t know why people are saying that. Every time I go on there’s as many people running around as there were in the past.
People are just complainers. It’s impossible to make everyone happy. Just enjoy the game. It’ll be around for a long time yet, trust me
EDIt: see the thing is, for us newer players (I’ve been playing about 1-1/2 years), we don’t know what it was like “in the beginning” so we’re not missing anything! For us, it’s all new and great. Don’t let others get you down. I stopped playing the game for 4 months due to school, and since I’ve been playing again I’m having as much fun as ever. I’m leveling up just fine. I started my character from scratch, and I don’t play every day. It’s take about 1 year of very limited play (like, 1-2 times a week, then taking months off at a time) to get to level 55, and I think it’s not that bad. Just find someone new like you, like a friend to run around with, and it’ll be fun. I have my husband who plays every day to help me out…Just enjoy yourself…that’s what it’s all about.

How can anyone justify General McChrystal’s comments and oppose his termination?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion; that’s the beauty of being an American (and a human, but that’s besides the point). However, in the military, this isn’t always the case.

I can understand why some would think it was valiant for him to express his sentiments toward the current administration (especially if you dislike those in it). However, as a military officer, I’m pretty sure his words constituted as GROSS POOR JUDGEMENT. By expressing his negative sentiments in a non-professional manner, in front of subordinates, and in the forum he did it in, was both a poor leadership decision and a horrible tactical mistake. Now the enemy, more than ever, is aware of the rift between our military and the White House. THIS WILL NOW RAISE THEIR MORALE! And thus, the fighting will increase because of this morale boost.

And if you think about it further, if you insulted your boss or higer-ups in ANY job, what do you think would happen? This choice was inevitably going to lead to McChrystal’s termination from his position.

So, considering this, HOW can you rationally justify that what McChrystal said was right, and that the President’s decision to remove him from Afghanistan was wrong?
